Wow ... This developed into cool thread ... Does the yellow pan dragster hit the original poster's question?

I notice a few things in the pic from the link (frame) ... but no real matter ... 415 lbs ... super light Big Twin

Thruthfully, I initially thought about saddle bags ...

I moved to Orlando in 1972 and knew Buddy Puckett and the drag bike. The one on display back then was a twin Panhead engine bike. And I believe it was built Louis P. and Dick O'Brien who later became the head of the racing department at H-D and designed the XR. Also I have their old shop truck, a 1953 Ford.

When I was a rockie cop in Orlando, Puckett's H-D was on Orange Blossom Trail. It was a small section of that road, that was in Orange county, in between two sections of my city district. I went buy there several times daily. They had and XR-750 dirt track chassis in the front window, and as a motorcycle racer, I stopped to ask if it was for sale. Didn't make that mistake again! I did stop by there occasionally to look around. They closed soom after that. Had no idea Dick O'Brien started there.

[QUOTE=exeric;118320] I had heard that Puckett's inventory went to Arizona. [QUOTE]

It went to a place called Highway Choppers in Glendale, AZ. The guys there have NOS parts hangin' on the wall. They won't sell you their "Display part" but will sell you another that is packed in one of their semi trailers. Only they never have time to dig it out for you. :-(

Sounds like the same routine that Puckett's had. Some things never change.
