To my skewed way of thinking the reports don't jive with the 'cunning rich robbers theory'.
1st they kicked to door down - that's not quiet - an experienced ring would have been quiet.
2nd they used a rented/stolen van - not a visually quiet move.
3rd they threatened them with a Taser obviously no match for a Kimber - not serious about the theft.
4th reports coming from non P.C. papers say the robbers were African-American.
Statistics lead me to think it went down this way, overheard conversation, stealthy followed Jeff home, hid in plain site in the school parking lot nearby, waited in anonymity till 4:30 AM - then BAM. It sounds not near as exotic at the private jet supposition considering the Booty, but just as likely. Those 2 machines, if a high end theft, they will NEVER see the light of day again - stealing that Crocker and that Honda would be analogous to stealing the Mona Lisa.
I'm just sayin.......Hope to heck they are recovered, ransomed or not.Last edited by chas; 02-07-2012, 03:55 AM.

I completely agree with the amateur theory. Real crooks don't work that way! (hell, just look at our government!) The best thing to do is instantly offer a large reward and publicize it like crazy. Those scumbags will fall all over each other ratting their home boys out!

After the last couple of comments, I'd have to say you guys are probably on to something. Maybe there's some bumbling crooks with a couple of expensive bikes wondering how they are going to market them. A reward offer just might do the trick.Cory Othen

7 years & still no happy ending, I was hoping....
A thought on battery powered GPS locators; IF I had one hidden on each rare motorcycle (or car) in my locked & alarmed shop/garage, I probably
wouldn't consider turning each one on every time I left the room, that's just not practical.Rich Inmate #7084

I remember when this Cyclone was stolen by weapon wielding crooks who rousted the owner early on a Sunday morning. It sounded crazy enough to be taken from the script from an episode of Barretta, or some other **** Hollywood t.v. show. I was wondering what happened with this bike, and if it was found. I have to believe I've read something about a recovery, but lack of interest in million dollar Cyclones is probably why it's hazy to me. I did feel bad for the owner, and particularly because he and his family were physically threatened. A theft always leaves a lingering feeling of violation, loss, and a hate for humanity which could be the worst part of stealing. Motorcycles give pleasure, and that is what makes them so theft prone. It seems like anything in life that is fun, beautiful, and a sacrifice to obtain becomes an object of intense envy, and jealousy for the weak, covetous creatures who think life owes them something.Eric Smith

I didn't know that, Chris. That makes you wonder if it went to an unscrupulous overseas collector. I picture some rich guy with a goatee, a monocle, wearing a fez, and drinking cognac while he ogles his collection of stolen fine art, pornography, and rare motorcyclesEric Smith
