    Indianrestguy I'm just pulling your leg. An old Indian like yours will be fun to watch as you put it together. What if anything do you think you are missing?

      I'd have to agree with Ross. It looks like a lot of the "hard" stuff is already taken care of. Thanks for the photos. Oh, by the way, I like the Coke stuff in the background.

        I know for certain we are missing the toolbox, metal above tank type not leather hang from rear type. When my dad first dismantled the bike we took it to His uncle to have the hinge repaired. It has since disappeared, uncle passed away aunt can't find it. We all took a trip down there recently and spent day at her home looking for it with no luck. Seems to be pretty basic design and have been toying with idea of having one fabricated for resto. Uncertain about inside of box but know of a '13 about 20miles from us with toolbox and was going to talk to owner about letting us get measurements and design details from his. We talked to Ziggy at Davenport this year but he seems to have quite a backlog of work already. Very open to suggestions, ideas. Right now I am going by my dad's knowledge and the book Early Motorcycles Construction, Operation and Repair by Victor Page. I have no prior experience working on motorcycles. Nate

          cylinders

          When you ready to plate the cylinders. Check out Caswell's electroless plating kit, no anode shadow. Its expensive but works very well and is fairly easy to do at home, one hour of plating will give you 1 thousands of plating. I have used it and happy with the results.

            That is interesting because the only book I had when working on my 1913 Indian 38 years ago was the same book. It still is one of the best reference books today.Matt Smith sells a nice parts book and sales brochure and you have met Ziggy (the Ontario one I assume as there are others) so you have made a very knowledgeable contact.He alone can tell you almost any detail as he lives and breaths it on a daily basis. Hopefully if you attended a meet like Davenport you hunt up a like model and photograph the hell out of it. Tom Faber had a beauty this year at his stall.

              Thank you for the advice and encouragement, I like the same book thing, it inspires me. We have quite a few pics of the bike as it was when we got it, between those, Victor's book, and all the generous help I have found here I feel a lot more confident going forward with this build. -Nate

                  Hey just looked at the photos again. How is your gas and oil tank situation and do you have the juice can carb and manifold with a 42 degree mag ? Just scanning the obvious.

                    Both tanks primered and ready for paint, gas tank not pictured...oil tank is second bubble wrap package from left next to rear stand. I will have to get back to you on carb and magneto question. -Nate
