As many of you know, the AMCA Virtual Library suffered some software problems beginning in the late summer and continuing into fall. That meant it's been out of service for several weeks.
The good news is that the Virtual Library has been rebuilt from the ground up, and it’s back in operation as of today. That means you can get to all 380 documents in the Library, and as an AMCA member, you can download any of them free of charge.
To get to the library, click on the “Virtual Library” link under “Features” in the red menu bar across the top of the page on the main website. Or you can just use this link: http://antiquemotorcycle.org/virtuallibrary/
Please note that this is a different location than the old library, so if you bookmarked that site, set up a new bookmark now to the AMCA library.
The software problems with the old library also meant that all of the accounts in it had to be destroyed. You can either set up an account in the new library or you can check out without creating an account. Either way, you'll have the chance to enter your name and AMCA number (yes, the software will check to make sure your membership is up to date) and click on the “check out” button. When you get to the payment page, you’ll discover that the cost of your item has been reduced to $0 and you can download the file free of charge.
Right now, the library has nearly 400 historical documents, but we’d appreciate your help in making that number grow, either by allowing us to scan the historical documents you own or by helping with the scanning process. To volunteer, e-mail Bill Wood at AMCAoperations@gmail.com.
