    Hanson roll up sport shields

Are there Any original markings or patent numbers on the original Hanson roll up shields? Did they all come with a lower fixed canvas or were some just the roll up shield with the attached rubber like canvas attached to the shield? Is the windshield held in place by straight slot screws or phillips head? Trying to determine what I have. Thanks and I know quality repro is now being produced. Thanks again. Anthony.

The original markings are still on mine. It has straight slot screws threaded into the rear shield mounting strip. The lower roll up portion is a sheet plastic type material with a textured surface.

My original Hansen sport sheild has phillips type screws so it must have been made during or after the war. I'd say one with straight slot screws must be pre war. Does anybody know what years these were made?

Quick question, nice bikes by the way, were the green lenses used for some official purpose (such as red and/or blue for ploice), or are they just a style decision? Just curious.

From research done some years ago, I believe the Hanson Sport Shields were first produced in 1948. Can't remember why, and can't find the information file on it either--hope that helps-BPK!!

I have some original ads somewhere in period magazines. The problem is which one and which issue as i have hundreds to consider. If I find anything I'll post it. And it was definitely post war!

Jwl. Mine has Phillips head screws as well. Does yours have any decals or markings on it like robbies? Mine does not and mine came from browns hd when they were bought out many years back. Thanks.

I can't see any markings on mine, but I didn't have my glasses along. The canvas/plastic is smooth on both sides and the plexiglass part is not as tall on mine as it is on Robbie's.

Gary's email in the roster didn't work, couldn't find him in the member list on this forum. Any suggestions?
