  • AMA Porcelain sign- anyone know what this is?

I bought one of these at a swap meet. I attached a picture. Anyone know if the "AMA" on the signs stands for American Motorcycle Association or what this sign is for? I cant really find any info online and I previously never saw this sign before. It is double sided and has the flange to mount. Thanks, Anthony.

It appears to be American Motorist Association. I find several for sale on line.

That is NOT an American Medical Association piece. It is as Chris said. They show up regularly on eBay. Under AMA you will also find the Amateur Modelers Association, a group of people involved in flying homemade gas powered wooden model airplanes, the Massachusetts Automobile association, also the MAA, and others.

Might be an old bus stop sign for the Autoridad Metropolitana de Autobuses (AMA) in Puerto Rico?

I have the distinct feeling I paid too much for this sign...!

Don't give up yet! How about Alberta Motor Association (AMA), incorporated in 1926, in 1927 began to offer garages that provided road service and towing, and in 1936 AMA offers highway patrols on Harley-Davidson motorcycles to help distressed motorists.
