The meet is a good one, but if you are just now asking, you're too late!

Davenport is going is extremely well. These guys do a phenomenal job. We just left the vintage races and had a blast. Parts wise vending was very strong and it wrapped all the way around the right hand part of turn one on the track. Vendors i spoke to were doing well and happy. There was a fair amount of good parts and i found quite a few things i needed. I would say easily 10 times the parts that were at rhinebeck as an example (nothing against rhinebeck just by order of magnitude). There seemed to be plenty of restored bikes for sale including a few fairly nice early ohvs as well as many later glides and several nice chiefs and two or three servis. Weather was hot and humid (near 100) but thats not uncommon for davenport Food and facilities were exceptional as usual. The grandstand was PACKED for the races and i enjoyed watching the kelly George prepared indian smoke the hand shift class in the first heat. That Indian flat-out screams. The spectator and walk in lot wa also packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time and there were no problems whatsoever that i am aware of thru today. What more can we ask for. Great job to those that helped and i will try to upload some pics later in the week. Looking forward to next year already.

Anybody know the story on the unrestored Jefferson OHV twin in post #9 above? Who is the owner? Was it for sale? How much?

Any idea on the background on this Jefferson OHV and how much of it is original?

                    Thanks!

I could be wrong Herb, but it looks like that Jefferson might be Vince's from California. I can't speak on it's history but I do believe that the engine is a Waverley and not a MACK. I'd be eager to hear more about it as well.

mmmm... I could be mistaken. This looks like the same bike (I think?) http://picasaweb.google.com/10345852...38748750107602 and I don't see anything written on the cases.
