  • 1977 XLCR Cafe Racer For Loan to a Museum

I Serial # 1000 that I bought new in 1977. It Is 100% original as from the factory, The only thing I changed is I took the 21" Counter Sprocket off and put 20 in place of it. I added a Lockhart Oil Cooler, which was a factory accessory & cover. The Speedo reads 1,700 mile.
I got it out about 12 or 13 years ago and serviced it. Run it around the neighbor hood probably 15 or 20 miles with no helmet or plates.
What a feeling of freedom. It is a bike that I personally did not like to ride in the city. I will continue to edit and update this listing for more
    original history.

I like the idea of loaning a motorcycle to a museum. More people get to enjoy it -- plus you free up some storage space. Just make sure you have a clearly worded loan agreement.

I'm open for advise from anyone. I plan on getting legal advise before I agree to anything.

The Lake Erie Chapter members have loan motorcycles to the National Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio for winter exhibits for eleven years. Contact Bruce Williams through the museum for details of the loan agreement. 330-394-1899
