These are pictures of pictures that I took while in Edmonton, Alberta a few months ago. They were originally taken in this city as well. Excelsior and Indian were really popular north of the border.

Easy to check fluids though while drivingWell, maybe not.
I have the same sentiment for the crotch rocket riders that like to bring the front wheel up for any duration at speed in traffic.
I have to say though that this thing is art in motion. It's beautiful in my eyes and I'd probably want to try it at low speeds anyway.
Kind of reminds me of the time when I sat inside that tractor tire and "rode" it down the hill when I was a kid.
If only I didn't have to spin with the tire... at least I was in a field and starting from a huge dirt mound and not in traffic.
This was a modern version of the style I was talking about:

I guess it's not technically a "motor wheel" ??
The vintage version I was talking about up thread is much cooler looking IMHO.Last edited by rbenash; 02-06-2012, 07:05 AM.

I think.... you die
Anyway good question, better be leaning back perhaps? Else you'll look like that hamster that stops dead while running in the cage and make a full loop? Good time to be INSIDE the wheel vs outside perhaps.
I'm thinking the braking system would have to be at the hub or axle and not applied to the rimLast edited by rbenash; 02-05-2012, 02:06 PM.

My question about single wheel machines is what happens when you slam on the brakes for a panic stop?

You folks probably know there's an Italian beauty single wheel at Bob's BMW in Jessup, MD. Pretty cool. Next time I'm there I should take a photo and post. But I'm thinking all the experts here know what I'm talking about.
For the life of me can't remember if it is Ducati, or who. The seat was on top instead of inside the wheel and it is very similar to some of the modern single wheel experiments.
The motorcycle company owner's son actually died trialing it. Very cool looking.
