Nice jcrawford. I saw little feat recently on the last tour here in CO.
Unfortunately, Sam Clayton couldn't take the altitude here and we missed him on this tour.
But here is a pic of Lowell taken at Lisner Auditorium in DC days before his death in VA.
Credit to my friend Maggie Crossgrove who took the pic while sitting on my lap.
Note that he was not playing his signature Strat but a Gibson. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I believe it was the song Juliette.

Sucks to be old. I can't attach the pic.

Muddy Waters - You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had

I first saw Muddy Waters perform in NYC back in the late '60s as well as other venues on the East Coast. I was also fortunate to see him at what had to be one of his last shows in Orlando, FL at a small club in a shopping center. Of course he was great and he had Pinetop Perkins on keyboards who was ancient at that point. Needless to say, the place was packed and in the middle of his set, Greg Allman (who was in the midst of his divorce from Cher) sat in. Soon, the place filled up with T.V. news scum, with bright lights and video cameras ruining Muddy Waters show. Everyone in the audience started throwing ice cubes, and beer at the "journalists" and they had to leave. Muddy Waters was laughing, and Greg Allman thanked the audience. One of my favorite music concerts with one of the all-time greats; Muddy Waters.
It’s an interesting story about those journalists. The world looks completely different today.

I didn't know Johnny Winter had passed away.

Blues? Here's Root Boy Slim and one of my all time favorites (...for the story it tells):

Some Great Blues Artists posted here~Thank You! That's a Funny Muddy/Allman story Eric. I seen Waters a few times over the years. When Southwest Airlines had $50 dollar round trips on those 737 jets, we'd fly to Chicago, and hit the old Checkerboard Lounge, and catch a lot of Big Time Blues artists. Those flights were never jammed, and it always felt like it was you're own private plane~Haha.

On The Rolling Stones first stateside tour in 1964, the Stones were in Chicago, and had a few days off between performances. Keith Richards took the opportunity to stop in at the Chess Studio to see if his childhood idol was there. Upon arriving, he found Muddy painting the ceiling in the studio. Keith said Waters face was all whitewashed from the ceiling dripping paint. The Chess Brothers were notorious as real skinflints. The Blues were sorta fading out some, but bands like the Stones & other English Bands revived their careers, Thank God. *R.i.P. Mr. Waters.

Yes Jarek, unfortunately Johnny's been gone for 12 years now. Sadly, all the years of Heroin abuse finally caught up with Johnny. Almost every time I seen him, a fight broke~out somewhere...Hahaha. *R.i.P. Johnny Winter.
