'Color Me Gone' Badger. Detroit Triumph, which was in Shelby Township, shut their doors in February of 2025. There is a Triumph/Indian Dealership *(Dick Scott's Freedom Powersports) in Livonia.

                • Thanx Robbie, It is this page not always loading the pics. It says please load a photo after I did. If I go out & come back to the thread it asks if I want to restore what I was trying to do. I click yes & It then acts like it loads. I have been seeing the same with some of the other people's posts shows no pic. Maybe too high resolution for this group but it doesn't say that. [ like others have said, I see my pics on my post & yours.]

                  • Badger, He was a friends grandpa that worked on the RR. Got caught in a between cars pulled his legs off. Wade "Baldy" Lentner from Ottumwa was an HD dealer that was near the tracks & friends with Bill. Wade built this electric start trike for Bill. Wade sent the drawings to HD & they didn't do it the same but they did create E start trikes a year before the Panhead. My friend left this calendar with me 25 years ago & never came back to get it.

                    • Puckett's H-D in Orlando had a Knucklehead/w/sidecar that was built for a disabled rider. The bike and sidecar had been re-acquired from the original owner and on display in their showroom for a number of years. I recall Buddy Puckett saying that the rig was designed and built by the Harley-Davidson factory and further enhanced by Puckett to the satisfaction of the buyer. I wonder if H-D was thinking of building rigs for disabled WW2 veterans who wanted to be part of the post war motorcycle boom that flourished in the late '40s and '50s. I don't recall if the rig was electric start, but Bruce Palmer would know as he was more familiar with that unique rig.

There was a Triumph brand motorcycle produced in Detroit 1912-1913 by Triumph Manufacturing Co on East Woodbridge Street. Word of this motorcycle concern was reported in March of 1912 and by July they were in production and filling orders numbered at 2000 units. By November they had receivership issues which they staved off temporarily but eventually succumbed to in April of 1913 with company assets being sold in May 1913 including 25 complete tested cycles and parts available to assemble 100 more.

Since this is the Advertisement section a 1913 Goodyear ad with Triumph Manufacturing Co in Detroit named follows.
Thank You for clearing this up Badger. I've always wondered about the Detroit Triumph connection. For years i tried to get any information in regard to this manufacturer, but to no avail. I might have to take you up on the
skinny with the old newspaper clipping.
