Bob,footboards came out in 1914 & that linkage coming from tank top lever to rear hub is for the 2 speed.That was the 1914 High Speed Twin.The late Mike Smith bought one in Iowa & had me pick it up.He wasn't happy that he had sold it before he realized the OP was under some brushed on paint,..super condition original bike!

Thanks for the correction. That is one reason why I don't attach the description that comes with a photo, and I sure don't know every year difference.
