    • Most pictures I post in the Vintage Pics of the Day were won by myself from a contest from the old Caimag forum and delivered to me via flash drive from the site administrator/ moderator. I am not the original owner of the photographs and give complete credit to the original photographer. This is a one time post that pertains to all the previous pictures I have posted and all future pictures. If I know the original photographer and source I will give credit to such, otherwise assume the pictures I post are from that flash drive. Just trying to share some cool old pictures.

      • Thank you for all the pictures you have taken the time, and effort to post, Bob. In particular, the picture you just put up of the '49. I am struggling with a color choice on my '51FL, and that black '49 has given me something to think about.

I did a search again based on a random number generator and applied the number to a state in this case number 5 for Connecticut. Well not sure how key word search "Old Motorcycle Photos Connecticut," came up with this photo but it did. Here is a description of this photo by Harris and Ewing Photography of Washington DC who documented many scenes and images that are part of collections in the Library of Congress.

1915. "Baker and O'Brien, transcontinental motorcyclists, back of White House." Bud Baker and Dick O'Brien. In May 1915 they embarked on a five-month, 10,000-mile overland jaunt to the West Coast via Indian motorcycle to see the California expositions. Harris & Ewing.

For random state day, today is Alabama's day as the 22nd US state. Robert Stubbs pictured below was an early motorcycle racer and promoter from the Birmingham area.
