That's a different oil tank for a Duo, Bob!

Apparently it has a real filter.

Since I have never needed to pay attention, it surprises me that the Parts Book pictures flexible lines for the Duo, which seems counter-intuitive, so close to the exhaust.

Meanwhile, when were chrome hubs and drums spec'd for Police? (Thanks in advance as always,...)

Vintage Pics of the Day - March 17, 2021

St. Patrick's Day - Many members of the NYPD have been first and later generation Irish. It just came up today that New York was my random number generated as our 11th state. So it falls in line for today as a holiday. I have seen some nice Scout restorations as replicas of this style NYPD police motorcycle.

The crashed twin headlight bike a bit back looks like a 1930 D model Harley small twin, still going 25 years later. Some states banned the twin lamps because they could be mistaken as a far off car at night, and Harley produced a retrofit single headlamp kit using the 1931/32 Motolamp headlight.
