Back on the Lincoln Highway in 1922. The summit of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and not as the sign identifies as 7630 feet elevation but was corrected in an edition of the Lincoln Hwy traveler magazine as 7364 elevation. But what's 300 feet. I looked it up because I could not read it on the sign. From this photographed location west to Lake Tahoe it was approximately 250 miles, east to Placerville it was approximately 300 miles.
