The second picture in #4644 is Hap Scherer, Harley-Davidson publicity manager, posing with a first year 1919 Sport model, a side valve flat twin. Scherer set various cross-country records to publicise the new model, but was subsequently sacked by H-D for disclosing production numbers and later found work in a West Coast dealership.
