This photo documents the first use of a bullpen cart in the National League on June 23 1959 and the H-D Topper which was introduced for the 1960 model year. The chauffeur is John "Freckles" Bonneau a H-D Experimental Department employee. Freckles is also recognized for being H-D's man testing Firestone and Goodyear desert tires on a H-D XA during the early 1940's war effort. My grandfather also worked in H-D Experimental along with Freckles and his younger brother Jack. I have a 1949 group photo of Experimental Dept employees with all three men included, Freckles and my grandfather are pictured side-by-side.
