Adam Potacka recieved 6 mos in jail as a first time offender. They were going to let him off but appearances by the victim at all court proceedings influenced the judge to give time. Richard Ostner will recieve 4-6 yrs as a repeat offender in conjunction with some other charges.

One other thing, the victim got back most of the 53 less carb and some minor hardware, none of the 48. Restitution has been ordered in the amount of approx. $52,000 for the 48, assembly of the 53, and the missing items. Civil action will follow for payment. Lets hope they pay dearly.

I was to receive restitution for my 1964 Impala SS 425 HP 409 that was stolen, stripped and burned. I never got a cent.

Maybe when you reported it was a 409 with 425 HP they just didn't take you seriously. Good truck motor, though. Yuk yuk.

No, wait a minute. Maybe that was the 348 I had in my 60. Anyway, sorry about your loss, even if it was a buttugly 64. Give me my aunt's red and white 63, 2 door, with buckets, 4 on the floor and a 327. God, I wish I had that car now.

Unfortunatly that's true Chris. I don't know about Cal. but here when they own a home a civil lien can be put on it or if they have a job they can be forced to comply with a civil and legal judgement, again only if they work on the books or own a home. It's a long drawn out process, we know. One owns a home with more equity than the judgement.

This was a box stock original '64 Super Sport. It was shown in Super Chevy Magazine back in '82. The Court that ordered the payment was in Oregon.

                              409

That was quite a car in 64. I remember some 409 around, but not any of the dual quads. Not sure how many were made. The biggest problem the 409 had was weak rods. I just had a 409 built for my 64 Impala--472CI stroker, dual quads, 500+HP and 500+torque. Should get her going in the next few days.
