  • Yerba Buena Road Run in the Napa Valley

Many thanks to the organizers of the YB Chapter for hosting an incredible Road Run through some of the most spectacular scenery on the Continent. Especially for a Northern Flatlander like me. Special thanks to Rick N (President) who invited me down and loaned me a very cool Panhead to ride... ( I wasn't the only guy he loaned bikes to either) Nice to meet Dave and hang with my old friend Stanley M..I have always said that Rick N is the "GodFather of Road Runs" and Stanley M is the "Poster Child for Road Runs"...Those California Dudes and Dudettes sure know how to show a rider a good time...Many thanks again... This RR was one wife and really wanted to attend as we knew the scenery would be phenomenal, but we just couldn't get the time to trailer out there and back from PA. Thought about shipping but just don't trust shippers unless I crate it.
Gracious of Rick to offer up a Pan. I've seen that happen at other runs as well. Makes the run experience possible for those outside of country / coming long distance.
If anyone knows of event photos posted somewhere let me know.

This video was linked in the latest Ft Sutter newsletter. https://youtu.be/IJXHRfEBAfA

There are some pictures in the newsletter too, and I'll bet more will be in the Yerba Buena newsletter when that comes out. You should be able to check out all the chapter newsletters from the national website once they are uploaded. Here's a screenshot of where you can locate them.

Eric, The rider just in front of Tom with the vintage blue and white lettered Fort Sutter jacket at the start is me. It was my last motorcycle ride due to health issues 60 years in the saddle but got to finish it on the roads I first rode when I moved north to Norcal in 1975. I was riding my 1981 FXB. At least Scott will be able to see I can still hold a good line. He's never seen me on the road.Tom always shoots good video. He's started running old Greasy Kulture articles of mine in the newsletter. Hope all is well with the family. Rich

Hey Rich, I recognized you on your Sturgis when I was looking through the newsletter. Sorry to hear it's time to hang up the helmet for good. Glad we got to ride together on a few chapter rides before I moved. I enjoy seeing your Greasy Kulture stories in the newsletter. I feel like I was ahead of the curve since you shared them all with me a few years ago. Family is good out here. Levi and I will be back in California for a few days for Thanksgiving. I'll try to make it over to say hey.

A couple pics for old times sake...

Your Sturgis on the ride when the grip came off. Thank goodness we were at a stoplight and not on the twisties! I don't think I'll ever forget that!
