  • Pics - National Road Run - Allegheny Mountain Chapter - Wellsboro PA

June 11-14 2023. Great town, great time, great people. Rain on 186 mile day 1 started within minutes of kickstands up and gradually worsened as the day went on. If anyone was on the NRR in Cherokee NC 2 years ago, think like Day 2&3! But Day 2 was perfect including for the evening show in the town square. Day 3 had some rain but spotty and it was a short ride day. Wellsboro is small town America at its best. The city employees welcomed and accommodated (and tolerated us) any needs we had and local residents were also very welcoming. The main streets of Wellsboro are still lit by gas lights on ornate poles. We were there a couple days early and overheard a local say "there is a motorcycle gang coming into town" and got a good laugh out of that. The hotel staff was also very tolerant and accommodating. Hope you enjoy this small selection of pics. If anyone else has pics feel free to add them. Credit to Andy Lindsay for about 6 pics including the first 3 and my wife Rhonda for all others.

3 Knucks on the chase truck! Driver was tempted to make a wrong turn and never come back!

Huge amounts of Mountain Laurel (state flower) was in full bloom along many roads. A rare sight as the window is small

Evening show in the town square

About 45 members took the option horse drawn covered wagon tour through the canyon along creek.

Yep - here is a shot of it in mass. Not uncommon along the higher elevation routes

Full transparency, there were grimacing faces too as you might imagine. My wife and I chose to photograph and post the smileys!
