Today would normally be a vacation day for me. I would have spent the past few nights getting 3 of my antique bikes ready to ride to the Oley AMCA MEET on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
I would have woken up at the crack of dawn, started riding, met my Dad and buddies at a breakfast spot, and then finished the ride together by parking our bikes in "Sportster Row" near the flagpole.
Here are photos from one of my favorite Oley memories: the time we got 4 totally stock 1969 XLCH Sportsters together (1 original paint, 3 restored) on "Sportster Row" and I started every one of them when it was time to leave. No easy feat when you combine a magneto, kickstart-only, and a Tillotson carburetor.
Four original condition 1969 XLCHs. Not a common sight:

Kickstarting bike number 3 - 16ouncePBR's Black '69 CH (which his Dad bought: brand new!):

And here is a photo of "Sportster Row" at Oley in its heyday:

Another one of my favorite Oley memories is when my very good friend and Ironhead genius, Dr. Dick and I got our Original Paint 1960 XLH and XLCH together at Oley 2017.
An original paint Ironhead is rare, an original paint 1960 Sportster is extremely rare, so imagine how rare TWO original paint 1960 Sportsters are!

See you in 2021, Oley!
