Hello Dan and thanks for the help here, The Cherokee Chapter Put on a very successful Road Run with 180 Riders this spring, and now we aspire to grow with our "Reach Out Program". Our free to the public Antique Motorcycle Display will be seen by thousands of people over the 4 days. We feel going out to where the public is will get growth, Too bad good ideas fall on deaf ears with a different vision. Eustis has taught me well. Again Dan thanks for you sticking your neck out and saying what you believe!!!! Shelby

I seem to recall a flyer that had dates, etc., perhaps I was thinking of the Pate website itself. I did see the one that is referenced here but since it did not mention dates I did not perceive that to be the flyer itself. My bad.

The Cherokee Chapter involvement in the 43rd Pate Swap meet has kicked into high gear, we were running out of our 209 spots for sale in our area, so we obtained the last 172 spots available for a total of 381 Spaces devoted to our Antique Motorcycle Display and vendor area. This year Pate had more vendor spaces sold than Hershey for the first time, and the Texas Motor Speedway has told the Pate Board, more space will be available for 2015 as needed for growth in future years.

Pate Board Members addressed our members at our Christmas Party a week ago, and extended their full support for the 1st Cherokee Chapter Regional Swap meet and Bike Show at Pate and plan to help us make this an annual Event. Working with the Chief Blackhawk MC and the VMA we plan to become a trifecta of Central & Southern Swap meets, Eustis, Pate and Davenport. North Texas has over 6 million people in the DFW area, and is centrally located between both East and West Coasts, and 900 miles South of Davenport, The perfect place to hold a Major Antique Motorcycle Swap meet and Public Display.

We have made agreements with both the VJMC and several British groups who are joining us in this event, that we will have some of the rarest of makes from around the world on display, and we will be making this event a part of our Reach Out Program. The New Executive Director of the AMCA requested booth space and we welcome Keith Kizer to help us sign up new AMCA Members and see first hand how this Chapter is on the move to be the best we can be.

New info, map of vendor spaces, and contact details on our website under events www.cherokeeamca.org www.pateswapmeet.com

Our first major announcement as can be seen on the Wheels through Time Website,' “What’s In The Barn?” is back for a 3rd on Velocity TV, chasing Dale and Matt across the country in search of rare and historic machines for display inside the museum. This season, Dale heads south to Texas for one of the World’s biggest swapmeets" The Cherokee Chapter is proud to host our friend Dale Walksler as he vends and films in our Regional Vintage Motorcycle Swap meet area within the Pate Swap meet. Wheels through Time and the National Motorcycle Museum are just two of the major Exhibitors signed up

The Cherokee Chapter members are not just putting on a Public Motorcycle Display but are emptying out their excess parts, motorcycles and projects for sale. We have sold out the first 209 spots we first bought but just purchased the last 172 spots near our area forming 381 spots in a single area. We are being joined by many other vintage and antique clubs from several surrounding States for what promises to be the "Davenport of the South" www.cherokeeamca.org

The Concourse D' Pate is drawing Antique Motorcycles from as far away as North Carolina and Nevada, Several British, Pacific Rim and European collectors will exhibit along with the American Brands in our People's Choice awards, making this truly an All Makes Public Display Pre-teens and up. More to follow as manufactures of quality Aftermarket Reproduction parts are signing up. Shelby

The Pate Association Board invited The Cherokee Chapter Pate committee to attend their annual Business meeting last Weekend, present for the Cherokee Chapter, Steve Klein and wife Joan, President, Greg McFarland, Vice President, Shelby Withrow and wife Gloria, Membership and Events Director, Jo Ann Kugle, Treasurer with David Kugle and Jim Joyce, Cherokee Pate Committee members.

Pate President John Anderson introduced us to the 17 Pate Board Members in attendance and explained the Alliance that was being formed with the Cherokee Chapter of the AMCA to do a yearly Regional Motorcycle Display, Concourse De Pate and Motorcycle Vendor Section within the largest transportation related Swap Meet in America. We were well received by the members and after John Anderson explained what had been done till now, He turned the podium over to President Steve Klein to share the Chapters vision of how we would work to build a "Davenport of the South" Spring Regional event within the Pate Swap Meet for the future. Ten Thousand Vendor Spaces, let that soak in, this is a Huge Event.

Centrally located in the South equidistance from both East and West Coasts, The Cherokee Presentation was well received and we remained through the rest of the Business Meeting, planning for the Future.

We have already signed up several Antique Motorcycle Clubs to be grandfathered in the first year spots and have Vendors coming from many states, we expect not only to sell out of available spaces, but expect a waiting list of other vendors that want a guaranteed spot for 2016 as we will have as many spots set aside as we think we need to expand into. Pate sells out of spaces each year and the Texas Motor Speedway sets aside more area each year.

Our list of Quality Motorcycles signing up for the 1st Concourse De Pate is growing daily and the number should top out between 150 to 200 Motorcycles from 1903 to 1980 with special attention to the rarest of machines, A number of special race motorcycles will round out the display, Cannon Ball, Bonneville land speed, antique Nitro Drag Machines, dirt and Board track.

As if all the armed Texans needed it, Pate has agreed to provide armed Security Officers in our area after Show hours during the night. A separate social area for our vendors trucks, trailers, and RV's has been approved by Pate Facilities Manager just off the show and vendor area for Chapter members and our Friends and Vendors.

5 weeks out and things are starting to really roll with a lot of speed now that Daytona is behind us and Spring is in the air. Several other Vintage Clubs now signed up and vendors responding to our ads daily, we are sure that we already have a great line up of out of state vendors as well as the local Cherokee Area Members that are cleaning out their spares and projects that need a new home. Several Vendors have indicated that since this is so close to home they can bring out more items for sale. Several British groups joining us along with some of our friends from the VJMC show in Eustis, We will have a little something for all brands.

The Pate association has really stepped up to make us feel right at home, and the Cherokee Chapter looks forward to a long term relationship with our Spring Swap Meet and Bike Show at Pate. We could not be more pleased with their efforts to make things easy for us. See you there. Shelby www.cherokeeamca.org
