The Cherokee Chapter of The AMCA has been doing Membership Reach-out Events all year at non-AMCA events to get in front of more people and have an opportunity to share the experience we all know and love... The Sport of Vintage Motorcycling. By setting up a booth at well organised, well run larger events such as Car Shows, Motorcycle Shows, Swap Meets and the like our Chapter has significantly increased our membership throughout Texas and Oklahoma this year. You see... a large segment of the general population in America does not know the AMCA even exists. It appears that vintage motorcycle enthusiasts will in fact attend a motorcycle show, Custom Car or Hot Rod / Street Rod Show when they cannot find a vintage bike event near them. By setting up a few tables, hanging our AMCA and Chapter Banners, placing a stack of registration forms and Antique Motorcycle magazines, and putting even a few vintage machines on display... we find out that Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts are just about everywhere. They just did not know where to find others like themselves in their local region. Eveyone knows someone who has an older machine in the rear of their garage... and they tell us about them.. or what they have themselves.
This November 9th The Cherokee Chapter are" VIP Guests" at 12th Annual The Pistons and Paint Custom Car, Hot Rod, Street Rod Show in Denton Texas. A large parking lot area of this 500+ car Show is being provided for our Chapter Semi-Trailer and as many rows of machines as our members can bring through the gate. There is no registration fee or armband fee for our members whom bring bikes to our Vintage Bike Display Area or work in our adjoining Booth Area. Mike and Buck Carson from Livingston TX are also bringing two Cannonball Bikes and their Cannonball Trailer to display as well. Word is additional Cannonbaqll bikes are also coming. All New Cherokee Chapter Members in 2013 get "first dibs" at showing their machines and our chapter will fill in the empty spots for all other makes and models from 1900 - 1965. If your machine is a few years older than 1965... Shhhh, No Motorcycle Nazi's will turn you in... Just bring your ride and we will help you show it!
If you are an AMCA Member from Texas, Oklahoma or Arkansas, we invite you to participate in this one day event.
If you know of any other vintage motorcycle enthusiasts whom are not AMCA Members... here's your chance to invite them to come along as well. It is very easy to visit with vintage motorcycle enthusiasts who arrive at this show and make them feel welcome to join the AMCA and our Chapter as well.
All information is available at these two websites below. Hope you can come and enjoy the day with us in Denton TX just North of the Dallas / Fort Worth Metro Area and just South of The Oklahoma State Line.
