  • correct saddlebags for the 48EL

What would be the correct bags for a 48EL with a 7000 vin number.? couple of different bags i saw for that year but figured I would check here. I was going to have it judged and dont wanna do this twice cuz I have the wrong bags on it.. Thanks, Paddy

bags are an accessory, not standard equipment & as such are not judged.

Not exactly. Depending on the finish group if done in Deluxe Package trim the saddlebags are part of the group and therefore must be correct for the package. Lesser priced groups came without the bags.

I believe the finish group on this bike is the deluxe group....
I will start another thread with better pictures for you to see what else it needs....In the meantime...
        Is this the deluxe saddlebag?
does that steel half moon attach directly to the fender? No gasket or grommet to prevent scratching? Please post a picture of the correct deluxe saddlebags if i posted the wrong one. Thanks, Paddy
        MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

This 1948 has been owned by a friend of mine since 1951.
Here is a photo I zoomed in on the saddle bags for you. This bike was restored 20 years ago and judged as well. IMG_20231224_204937~2.jpg
          Hope this helps,
          Duke
