Going through my fathers stash I found an original Indian license plate topper he wrapped up and labeled that he got it along with his 1941 Sport Scout so I figured I’d clean it up and put it on the bike. Here it is in comparison to a modern reproduction…

The original is aluminum, the repop is steel. You can see the Indian script is not as bold on the original. The biggest difference is the original has paint with ground glass I believe, you can feel the texture, and the repop has what I think is a reflective decal. So in the dark, when a light hits it, you get two different affects…
