Missing reflector?

I just noticed that both of my 54' plastic saddlebags have a threaded IMG_3571[3288].jpghole on the rear brace area. I'm thinking it was a reflector? If this was factory does anyone know what it looked like?

In looking at pictures of other sets of these bags I don't see anything that would indicate threaded holes for attachment, so perhaps someone modified this set.

Don't know if this image from Palmer (2nd ed.) is helpful. I assume that it's a factory image. Appears to be the same image that was used for the 1954 accessory catalog. You may already have any images/resources that I have, but I can email you some other stuff just in case it's helpful.
