Are you looking for used Indian tanks or some new ones hand made by a craftsman here in the USA?

Check these out Chris. Not cheap, but those tanks are rare as rocking horse turds. I did see a set in Wauseon a few years back tho', but not in the shape of these . You might want to contact *Richard Watson for a lead. I can't find his card, so maybe an AMCA Member can post it. Or, call Billy Balcer. Billy is President of the Lake Eric AMCA Chapter, where Richard Watson is a member.

Those are tough to find, 2 year only tanks and made in the worst of the Depression era. Great looking Indians with that beautiful Big Chief motor, and the beginning of the Dupont renaissance.

Kent Thompson (R.I.P.) had '30 Chiefs, but I don't know if he had spare aluminum tanks and I understand what he had was dispersed after his sad and sudden passing. I think Randy Walker (walkermachine.com) may know, or prehaps someone who sees this may have more specific suggestions. Good luck with your search.

...The minute I saw the parking lot I feared the worst (high prices) because there were many cars and trucks from every time zone, plus a bank of bid takers on computers and phones shouting out new high bids! I came to try and find crankcases for my 101...I found 'em but before I could even open my mouth to bid they were bid up to 2 or 3 times what I was thinking was my high end!

Not a good auction for a simple enthusiast like myself!

Indeed, hard tanks to find! Kent Thompson (RIP buddy) told me the aluminum tanks were actually only used for 1 1/2 years, 1930 into mid 31. He had a set of factory sheet metal tanks that would only fit a 30 or 31 Chief. Justin and Steve Rinker bought all of Kent's stuff. Try Steve at: 304-671-0878.

Here is the eBaY ad again. Also, the Vanderbrink results. Whoever bought one of the Vanderbrink '30-31 tanks, it appears to be the same person trying to sell it on eBaY. I realize the tanks are rare, but you're looking at ~ $4800 dollars is a 262% increase of $1320 dollars. *Check out the eBaY seller's other items also.

**Disclaimer: I did maximum scrutinize these comparisons in depth before I posted!
