  • 32e generator wanted for '46 EL

    Looking for a good rebuildable 32e generator/dynamo for a '46 EL.

I have a Model 61 generator being rebuilt now if anyone needs one or have in trade. It will be fully rebuilt, cosmetically and mechanically.

PM me if you have one and thanks!

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

If it is for a restoration be sure you get one with a zinc tag. Not copper or brass.

      Thanks, Chris.

It's for a rider. I just want a good functional gen. This bike has seen a lot of mods over the years and restoring it back to new would just strip away its identity. So I am more conserving it for what it is. A survivor of the 'best dressed' era of the '50s.

It had a Mod 61 on it... added who knows when. With a huge Delco voltage regulator screwed to the frame. I am going back to a cutout w. an original three-brush generator. I use that type of setup all the time on old cars and they are fine if maintained.

If you know anyone who wants a good M. 61 (late Panhead, I think).. pass this on.

I'll post some progress pictures of the bike after the weekend. It's almost back together.

      Cheers and thanks again,

      Sirhr

Did they drill out your Cases for larger later type Generator Screws? Don't the stock 32E's have smaller screws than the later generators? I could be wrong? 46EL

Interesting question and I'll have to check! It is certainly possible. But that just means I'll machine up some custom bits...

          Thanks for raising the question!

          Cheers,

          Sirhr

No need to make them. Jed's Cycle Products has them.
