    Knucklehead Horn

I am looking for an original horn working or not but all there. I have a 1939 EL and have a reproduction horn on it I made to look like an original, but would sure like to find an original. I have bid on ebay on a few but at the last minute get out bid. Have had the bike since 1982. Let me know at ebsrods@aol.com. I live in Colorado Thanks.

I hope you are aware that the 1939 horns had nine bolts and not six.

          Knucklehead horn

Thanks to both of you for the info. I will ask and look for 9 screws or nuts on back, and no strap. Do you know if the strap can be taken off if it has one, by taking the horn apart? Which I would do if it needed any work or repainting.

No need to worry about it as 9 bolt horns never had a strap on them! There are other Delco 16 horns out there as well for automobile use. Some can be easily modified for M/C use,

A six bolt horn can get a few holes added.

                horn

                All,
Years ago I came across a horn on an old Silver King tractor from the thirties. It was the same Delco-Remy with a sunburst type cover. It had a half strap or bracket on the back with two holes in it. Delco-Remy probably provided horns & lights for a lot of uses. You can find bargains in places that aren't labeled HD.

The Delco 16 horn was used on lots of things. With sunburst face beside H-D was Chevrolet and Dodge in the early '30's.
