  • Clincher Rims and Spokes

While I'm at it, I'd like to find a few reasonably straight 23" clincher rims, (40 hole) and a pile of 10-9/16" (+/-) spokes with nipples. Appreciate any leads. PM me with price. Thanks.

I'm still in need of a clincher rim. If you're like me you have had them laying around, getting under foot or worse; stepping on the rim and having it come up and hit you just under the knee cap. You should do yourself a favor and sell me one or two.

The other thing I hate about clincher rims and tires is when you hit the brakes hard, the rim stops and tire keeps moving; thus ripping the valve stem out of the tube. . . . And yet, I still need one or two.

hi eric----you can stop the tire slide with clear rtv silicone. it will bond enough to hold the tire and still be easily demountable when you need to change the tire

          That's a great tip. I'll do that.

If anyone sees some rims at Davenport and feels sorry for the seller and this buyer, point the seller to this forum.

I no longer have an urgent need for rims, although I would still like to get some better ones. I laced up the two I had and I'll be dipped if they didn't true up very nicely. The one in the picture I posted has a very pronounced "wave" when viewed on a flat surface, yet the spokes pulled it right in. I've laced and trued countless wheels and I would have bet this one wouldn't have trued. Sorry to hog up the "wanted" catagory, thanks for looking.
