  • Early H-D Footboard

I am in need of a mate for this crappy, rusty footboard that I am going to put on a 1916 J. I am hoping someone has an orphan lone wolf footboard that they don't have a home for. However, if you have pair of footboards that have the same degree of beat-upness I'd be interested in those as well. PM me with a price and make this old J balance out.

I'm not very knowledgeable on early Harleys so set me straight. I'm surprised to see no rivet holes. I thought 1916 was the first year to use rivets on the footboard mats? There's one with rivet holes on ebay right now ... Perry

Perry, 1918 was the first year that they riveted the mat to the board. I suspect the Army made them do it. As for me, I don't care if the board is later.

I got mate for the footboard. And better than that; I have a good friend I can thank for it.
