  • toolbox locking mechanism

I am looking for the locking mechanism for a stock "tear-drop" shaped toolbox used on all 1941-1954 models. The outside of the unit, that mounts into the tool box lid, has threads and a nut is used to fasten the unit to the lid of the tool box. The outside threads on mine have been damaged so I can/t mount it to the toolbox lid.

Not sure what you are asking for as no factory toolbox in that time frame uses any kind of threaded lock. The factory lock is soldered in place.

I guess that makes sense because the threaded portion of the unit barely fits into the lid. Therefore only a few threads stick through the lid. I seem to remember a long time ago I had a lock smith install a keyed lock in the lid, so that is why it is not the stock lock. Do you have any idea where i might find a stock lock that can be soldered into the lid? Thanks, Greg
