That does look good, Duke. I have that set but I have the same rear fender trim intention as you. My problem is they need to be re-chromed. I believe the stanchions are the same as the optional bling used on instrument panel covers which I think is being reproduced. The rod is simple 1/4" round CRS. Chroming is the absurdly expensive part.

The photo is from my 1957 I restored years ago. I'm looking for a set for my 1950 FL now.

I found this on the V-Twin site. I will probably buy from them before paying twice that amount to have my originals chromed.

Be aware that some of the aftermarket and OEM pieces do not interchange, slight diameter differences, different stud size, etc. They came with either 4 or 5 stanchions depending on the saddlebag plates. They also were commonly used as top of fender trim which doubled as luggage attachment points. See the front fender on my wife's 47WL.

Unfortunately, I was told by V twin they were discontinued as few months back.

              Thank you,

As for the chroming of the rods, I ordered some polished stainless from McMaster to advert the expensive chroming aspect on a similar application.

                  Highlander,

That was the route I planned on going as well if I can't find anyone with a set.

                  Thank you for the reply,
