    Wanted 1940 EL motor

    I am looking for a 1940 EL complete correct motor or as close to a complete correct motor. Basket is okay. Numbers must be good. NO number jobs please. Have cash or have other trade options depending on what you have, Thanks, Paddy

          "40s are a tough one Paddy. Most of the OEM cases broke if used hard, not a lot of good examples. Plenty of bad ones.

              Ha! Yes !!! I am finding that out.. I have come across many with the repair then bad numbers stamped in. Seems that the 40 was different fonts used in Vin. From what I can tell the correct font vin stamp was never given out by the factory. I have a complete correct bike with a very correct ULH and I have the 40 EL tanks so I will keep looking. Thanks. Paddy
