    Gear Shaft Bearing Seal Ring

I need a 24697-40 pinion shaft seal ring for a '50EL. OEM, no aftermarket please. I have a good used OEM 24696-40 ('40-'48 BT side valve) for trade or cash. Thanks.

Bob, why is a genuine seal ring more desirable than a reproduction. It looks like a simple part; just curious.

Like most, I like oem if I can get it. Simple part is correct and I have not purchased AM yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't fit the shaft and I would just hate to have one of those little tabs break off because it wasn't formed correctly out in the Pacific. It's a 14 year part, I would think there are some out there still.

DSC06492.JPG This is a reproduction I just purchased, instead of 2 bent over tabs this came in with a dent is one side to act like a tab. The ID is also .020 larger than oem. Guess it will work but not really what I wanted. Still looking for oem if anyone has a spare. Thanks.
