Indian Chief Engine Cases

I have a set of Indian Chief 1945 engine cases on ebay---I was told they were mating cases--Is there a way to determine that?

From the machine marks above the baffles they look to match.
From the rt side I thought the case would have a notch for the oil pick up tube ,like the left ,and not a srceen pick up and no notch which I thought was earlier.

see the top of the timing case first photo , it likes like there may have been a magneto model , no walsh plug , it also has a M at the end of vin pad,plus there is a magneto oil pump on his for sale site. as far as knowing if the are matched ? early Indian motors use to have inside the timing case , engine number inside near the idle gear but not 40s cases , Rob
