Up for sale is a big twin 1939-1/2” four speed tranny case. I bought this thinking it was a 48. It said J8 and the vent was there so I never gave it any mind. Until! Some moron put a bolt that was too long in the kicker support and blew a ¼” hole in the bottom of the case. So I packed it up and shipped it off to Carl Olsen. This is when my bubble got popped when Matt informed me that it wasn’t a 48. Carl welded up the hole, addressed the treads in the adjuster and drain hole, Installed a new main bearing race and line bore it. The case is mint at this point. He repaired the hole really well. You would not have any problem installing the reverse idler gear pin if you so choose. All the studs are new. The shifter top indexing pins have also been parkerized. All other threads are in great shape. Case is beaded, cleaned and ready for assembly. The case is for sale out right or will trade for an early 48 in the same shape.
