Harley Knucklehead Small Port Front Head, later 1938-1939 Style.
This is a VERY good condition head. I'm selling this for a friend.
I see no broken fins and all threaded holes are good.
There have been some minor repairs done to this head and they were all done by Don Sullivan of Head Hog. See his info at headhog.com Those of you who know Don know how meticulous he is.
The repairs are as follows;
1. The tip of the intake "rabbit" ear was broken slightly into the hole. Don welded this up and re-machined it to spec using his fixtures. A closeup picture of this repair is shown.
2. The valve seats have been replaced and are ready for a valve job after lower tins and guides are installed.
3. The spark plug hole has been repaired with a solid "Keensert". This is NOT a coil style thread repair like a Helicoil. It is a solid style with ID and OD threads so there is a tight seal. It is also staked in place.
This head does NOT have the cracks in the exhaust port that are often found on front heads. The "diving boards" are also perfect and have never been broken and repaired.
This head is available for sale locally in NE Ohio for $1800 plus shipping. Would prefer to sell it outside of the flea
