harold Mathews, oldest Harley dealer in northern Calif......

Harold was born on November 15,1919 and died last month here in Fresno Calif. He was a dealer since 1953 and leaves his wife Eva. They were married for 67 years.

He always sold his motorcycles at msrp or less, never took advantage of you when things were hot. Harold was Grand National hillclimb champion in 1948 and held #404 in the AMA.

His hillclimbers are on display at Mathews Harley Davidson in Fresno California, still a family run business. RIP Harold.

One day, many many years ago, Harold took me into his basement. What an unbelieveable stash. Seems like when the CHP took a bike for bad numbers it was disposed of into his basement. The cases had to be removed and the rest of the became used parts.
