For those of of you who knew Jon, he has passed on. Jon was a very important member in the community of pre-1930, IoE Harley-Davidson twins.
Jon was always willing to help everyone. He was always willing to share his knowledge and experience helping me with both my ‘27’s. Jon was never hesitant when it came to encouraging me to do my own work and when he would have me send him work that I was not equipped to do myself. His unselfish help lives in both my bikes. Cylinder boring, Venolia pistons, fitting lower end rollers to JIMS pins to Carrillo rods, exhaust valve/guide work, a set of front forks, and freely offering his time, instruction and advice. Jon is missed. I don't know where I'd be without Jon's help. If such a thing exists, Jon, I hope you, George Hood and all the others who have gone before us are having some good conversations right now. My best wishes and heartfelt thoughts go out to Jon’s loved ones and friends.
