Steve *(Bed-bug)* Wolski...R.i.P.

Steve passed on June-6-2021. I knew Steve for 30 years. He worked and retired from FoMoCo as a career Electrician. At the time of his death, he was 80% into restoring a 1954 H-D KH. And, he just finished restoring a couple of Triumph Cubs. For the past 20 + years, Steve took on the tedious job of historical custodian for the old Motor City Speedway Track. The Track opened in the mid-depression 1930's, and was home to professional Motorcycle Racing & Automobile Racing also. Steve was a Good Guy and a Total Character! He will definitely be missed by all his Friends & Family. God Speed Steve. *R.i.P.* (1940-2021)...

Looking at his face, it looks like Steve smiled a lot, and that's always a good judge of character. I wonder how he got the nickname of 'Bedbug".? Got to be a good story there. Probably another gear head I would have loved to know. God Bless, and RIP.

It's always a whole lot easier to withstand the pain of a loss when other people take interest in your grief. Thank You Eric & Robbie.

As far as the nick name 'Bed-Bug' goes, that popped-up only about 5-6 years ago at the National Wauseon Meet. To put it politely, Steve liked to pinch a penny, so he was staying at a nearby Motel that recently changed ownership--which will remain nameless, that isn't exactly up on their cleanliness. Anyway, after the first night in the room, Steve wasn't sleeping in the room again, even though he was booked for a couple more days. He even asked me, and a few of the guys we vendor with, if we wanted to buy-out the rest of the days left for a discounted price.--Hahaha. This is when all of us wanted to know the reason why? Steve gave us the runaround momentarily, but we weren't having any part of it. Finally, he confessed that he had seen the biggest & ugliest insect he'd ever seen in his life, crawling around under his sheets. And, Steve reminded us that he did a 4 year stint in the U.S. Army--Hahaha. This is when he was pegged with the handle--'Bed-Bug'. Also Eric, that's Steve's knock-out all steel 1932 Ford he built from the ground up in the 1st picture. The 3rd is at Indy with Miss Hurst Linda Vaughn. He did some really nice restorations on many old Sportsters & K-Models that he fancied. The 'bug' hit Steve when his Father bought a brand spanking new Indian Four, that was in the family for many years.
I took the top picture at Ray C's H-D in Lapeer Michigan with our friends Jay 'Springer' & Scotty Parker. To get them to laugh, instead of say cheese, i said...Say Yamaha. Hahaha
