    Jim Long

    The antique motorcycle world lost a great asset last Sunday with the passing of Jim Long, I apprenticed under him for my first judging experience years ago in Davenport and have been a friend for years. Although we were competitors in the same field, we shared knowledge and each grew from each other's sharing of our passion for these great machines. I will miss him, but never forget his positive influence on my life. Rest in peace my friend.

      I have talked with Jim for many years as well at Davenport and Fremont.

              Dear Carl, I'm really sorry to hear that. I've judged with Jim numerous times; been entertained at his house before the Davenport Meet; rummaged through his shelves scavenging parts; and seen him and chatted at Oley several times. He was a knowledgeable guy, and happy to pass on that knowledge to others. Is there an address for condolence letters?
