John “Jack” Morris
John “Jack” Morris, 83, passed away peacefully at his house on May 18, 2013. And the Lord said “Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of Heaven.” Jack retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 32 years to be a loving care giver to his wife of 41 years, Ruth, who passed away in 1989. He was a faithful member of Green Valley United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Akron Model T Club, and a lifetime honorary member of the Lake Erie Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.
Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd, Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619) with Rev. Jennifer Olin-Hitt officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. and for 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made in Jack’s name to the Green Valley United Methodist Church, 620 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd, Akron, Ohio 44319.
