    Former Proprietor of Double A Cycle in Warren, Michigan. Ed was a straight~up guy with a vast knowledge of motorcycles, and machinery. He saved my young whipper~snapper hiney many a time. Patient, and a heart of gold. 'God speed Ed'.

    . I am very sorry for your lossI had a bunch of those guys along the way JoJo who saved my bacon despite my best attempts to screw things up. The herd is thinning out. I hope Ed did not suffer. Take comfort knowing h.e went away doing what he loved

      Thank You kindly Peter, for your condolences. One of the drawbacks of getting older unfortunately, is seeing our friends pass away before us. Yes, Ed was doing what he loved, riding his FLH on a beautiful day. I don't know if Ed installed a deer whistle? But, as an after thought, i've ridden in that area frequently, and when i moved up rural, i had 4 deer whistles on my ride. At first, they were air activated, but then the manufactures engineered the electric. They're not 100% fool-proof, but i cannot express how much they try to do their job. Any effort to make that deer become curious, might just save your life. Thank You again.

            Sorry to hear it, that really sucks. RIP Ed. The deer can be a hazard anywhere and anytime. My wife hit one on her VFR while we were on a ride one day heading for a lunch spot to celebrate her birthday. It happened at 11:30 in the morning. Luckily for her the deer was leaping and she hit it at about 50 MPH when it was airborne, carried it along for a bit as the bike dropped to the side. When she hit the soft shoulder the bike dug in and spun so she, the deer, and the bike all went separate directions. She fared pretty well considering. She was also fully clad in armored riding gear, boots, full face helmet, etc.First pic from my Ducati on the road, her bike over the edge of the slope Bike was totaled. Hole punched in the crankcase from rocks.
