  • More on K Model Oil Lines

The CAD oil lines for my 55KH were readily available from Sporty Specialties in Fullerton, Ca. They are the same items from the V-Twin catalog PN 63507-52 and 63570-52A. They also have the correct lines for 56 and above. The part that does not show anywhere is the Oil Feed Line Hose PN 63517-54. I suspect this is because it is rubber hose. Based on 5/8 clamps, I suspect that is the OD of the hose and standard rubber hose can be cut to the needed length. Can anyone confirm the proper inside diameter of the hose used?

My 52-57 book lists oil suction line ; flexible, 63517-52 for 52-early 54 and 63517-54 for later 54-57. It does not show any clamps at all but rather compression type fittings with 63529-52 sleeves and 63527-52 nuts. There is an Elbow at the case 63539-52 for 52-early 54 and 63539-54 for later 54-57 (45 degree) and fitting 63533-52 at the other end for all. Don't think clamps were used at all until after 65, seem to remember a photo in an old sportster service manual that clearly showed rubber lines attached with a double wrap of safety wire instead of the familiar band clamp.
