  • one hole vs 3 hole crankpin

(For HD OHV) I see several vendors offer crank pins in 3 hole and 1 hole versions. Which is preferred and why?
Are there specific configurations that require one or the other?
(For the sake of discussion, how about the years 1941, 1951, 1969?)

Ralph, I like the two hole pins for even oiling and no holes in the bearing path.

I,m a two hole guy myself, but they seem to have gotten hard to find as years went past. I'll run a single hole before a three, there is a thing such as over oiling and if it's fed with a side oiling pinion shaft the three can actually under oil at idle and over oil at RPM.
