  • Knucklehead Accessory

In the July/August issue of The Antique Motorcycle magazine, on page 40, is a picture of a very cool, gold Knucklehead.
What is the item that is mounted between the two mufflers?

It's a spare-wheel lock... model T. There are various Brands and types. Heavy... I believe they were designed for wood-spoke wheels on vehicles in the late-teens and twenties.
The hole sizes may vary considerably, most probably won't fit wide 16" tires. M/C spoke wheels may be tricky, as fitment may be an issue.

You MUST remove them when you leave the bar. Otherwise, you won't be going anywhere, anytime soon. Big Time. A chain, or a cable... maybe. Not practical, at least for me.

I saw a few at the Dixon meet, last June. Found on EBay, from time to time. Prices range from less than $50 to +$200. current EBay ad #362292687560.
