  • Knucklehead Wiring for 12v 65A gen with Volt Tech regulator?

I have checked the forum for this having been addressed previously but I could have missed it. If I did can you please give me the reference?
My "new" 1947 Knuck has been fitted with the later 65A, 12v generator with a Volt Tech regulator bolted on to the butt end. This bike had electrical problems and I've completely rewired it. But I have no diagram for this regulator to know if it's wired correctly and the stock diagram isn't helpful with this after market part.
This regulator has only 3 wires. Red going to Armature, Green to the field and Black providing the output (I assume).
If the regulator IS wired correctly:
WHERE DOES THE BLACK WIRE ATTACH?
HOW DO YOU GET THE GENERATOR IDIOT LIGHT ON THE PANEL TO WORK CORRECTLY?

Thanks in advance for whatever information you can give me

    Sidecar,
I found this link at Tedd's with Volt Tech Instructions. Check your regulator against the instruction and see if correct/same.

Thanks very much for the info and the quick response. I had even looked at the mfg.'s US patent application but they didn't have a schematic there! Ride Safe.
