Has anyone had any experience with the upper fork bearing conversion to a sealed bearing? With my adjusting cone showing the pitting below, I was considering it on the Chief rebuild only. It is my understanding that I have to have the cone taken down a bit on the bottom surface to accommodate the new bearing instead of balls. If the cone is not usable, then why not? At least I would get to keep it and still use it with this plan. I don't think this is a big deal to do since the cone is so badly pitted anyway (unless anyone feels otherwise after looking at the pics).
