  • Bolt/Nut Torque Values.

Greetings Everyone!! I am presently rebuilding a 29 Indian Four. All available literature copied into popular magazines are copies of old shop manuals and riders books, no torque values for main and conrod bearings. Also items like the bevel gear pinion nut etc. The info copied in popular books are old technology before torque wrenches were handy to the service sector. Everything is just "tighten". I would like to do better than that and I'm sure the four cylinder specialists out there have come up with some reliable tightening specs by now. Can anyone help with all specs beyond just torque values? Also want to know if its better to go with hardend woodruf shaft keys. and also should I do away with castle nuts on the rod and mains using modern locking nuts. ..Thanks in advance...partshunt
